Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS for short) headquartered in Wisconsin with more than 1200 congregations across this country and missions around the world. In short, we believe Jesus is the Son of God, his perfect life and sacrificial death count for all humanity. These truths are revealed in the Bible and summarized in our belief statements. You can read more by clicking on the What we Believe link to the left.

Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church has been serving the Angleton, Richwood, Clute and Lake Jackson areas for more than 40 years. We have members who come from all directions, including Alvin, Galveston and West Columbia.  We are a small congregation with a large reach and a true family atmosphere.

Come worship with us!

When: Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. Services last approximately 60 minutes and there are always refreshments for our members and guests afterwards while we enjoy time for conversation with one another.

Where:   125 COUNTY ROAD 201B Angleton, Texas 77515 (From Business 288, turn onto CR 687 about one mile north of FM 2004 and drive 1.1 mile to CR 201B).

Note: We offer Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper) services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays the month. We also offer Holy Communion on the special services of New Year's Eve, Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday. We ask that non-members desiring Communion please speak with Pastor Semro before the start of services.

We follow the Scriptural and historic practice of Communion only for those who are of our same Fellowship, that is, those who are presently members of the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod and its sister synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS & ELS). This is called "Close Communion" to indicate that we need to be in close harmony and agreement in the teachings of the Scripture BEFORE we enter into Fellowship and such things as the practive of Holy Communion.  Our Lord Jesus instituted Holy Communion for the "close" 12 disciples, and the early New Testament Church continued that practice.  It essentially is saying, let's be sure of each other BEFORE we start to behave as though we were sure already. We do this openly by instruction and declaration of our mutual agreement. Then, we have the joy of celebrating the Lord's Supper - Holy Communion - with those who are joined together in faith.

If you desire to become one with us, consult with the pastor. He will be happy to speak with you and arrange for you to participate in Holy Communion. We treat the Sacrament so carefully because it is a special treasure the Lord has given to His Church on earth and it should not be regarded lightly.
